Description
Samuel Thompson, assistant surveyor for the British Commission, created this plane chart of Rainy Lake, in fulfillment of the 7th article of the Treaty of Ghent. This map is part of a larger archive, the Thomas Barclay collection (Coll. 26), related to the drawing of the Northeast boundary between British Canada and the United States.
