Description
Mildred and her sister, Madeline Burrage, visited Mexico and Guatemala in 1935 and 1936, with this photo accompanying Mildred's Guatemalan visa. They visited rural communities and archaeological sites in both countries.
Mildred Burrage, a renowned artist born in Portland, painted landscape scenes and portraits of Native peoples in their regional clothing during these trips.
