Description
Architecture commission for Portland Osteopathic Hospital at Brighton Avenue in Portland, ME, 1956. The commission is associated with Stevens and Saunders Architects. This item is part of the Stevens Architects drawings and records collection.
Osteopathic Hospital of Maine opened in 1937 on Pleasant Street in Portland with 24 patient capability. Many changes occurred over the years, new buildings and wings were added, and the name was changed in 1991 to Brighton Medical Center. A merger with Maine Medical Center occurred in 1995 and by 1997 it was known as Maine Medical Center--Brighton Campus.
