Description
This bodice and skirt ensemble is made from an unlined cotton-wool blend. A cummerbund belt, with three black bands, is lined with the same check fabric, giving the appearance of a one-piece dress, while adding detail to an otherwise plain silhouette. Bakelite buttons and open pockets add additional detailing. As evidenced by period photographs, the functional style was popular with working class women.
