Description
Banker, Carpenter, and Burgess was awarded this bronze medal by the Maine Charitable Mechanic Association for paints at the exhibition of 1859. In 1859, the MCMA had recently purchased Mechanics' Hall in order to store their library of resources for skilled laborers in Maine. This medal was donated by Theodore B. Forbes, a Life Member of the MCMA.
The MCMA held the first "exhibitions and fairs" of arts and crafts in 1826, 1838, 1854, and 1859.
