Angus King served as governor for Maine from 1995 to 2003. An Independent from Brunswick, King's tenure as governor is noted by his 2022 Maine Learning Technology Initiative (MLTI) that provides laptops for every public middle-school student in the state, the first initiative of its kind in the nation.
