Description

Joseph E. "Joe" Brennan, a Democrat, served as Maine's governor from 1979 to 1987 and in the US House of Representatives from 1987 to 1991. Previously Brennan served in the Maine Legislature and as Attorney General.

Hailing from the Munjoy Hill neighborhood in Portland, Brennan donated a portion of his records to Maine Irish Heritage Center for research and display in 2016.
