Twitchell, Champlin & Co. was located at 252-254 Commercial Street, at the head of Merrill's Wharf. This wholesale grocer was owned by John Q. Twitchell and James P. Champlin.
The company also bottled extracts, and perhaps other items.
Handwritten in pencil below the photograph are the names of the employees pictured, along with their positions.
