Description
James Otis McIntire (1822-1875) of Parsonsfield, drawn from a photograph in about 1873.
McIntire was born in Parsonsfield. He went to West Point and was a captain in the Mexican-American War. He then studied law with his father, James He was admitted to the bar in 1847. In 1848, he became Clerk of Courts for York County, a position he held for ten years.
He also was president of the Alfred bank. He moved back to Parsonsfield in 1870. He died in 1875 died in the house in which he was born.
