Description
John Davison wrote to his wife, Eliza Ann Davison of Augusta, from Veracruz, Mexico. Davison was a ship captain.
He commented on the battle for Veracruz, which ended the day after his letter was written. The battle was part of the Mexican-American War, 1846-1848, fought over the U.S. annexation of Texas in 1845.
