Description
Patricia "Pat" LaMarche ran for governor of Maine in 1998 as a Maine Green Independent Party candidate. She was a resident of Yarmouth at the time. LaMarche's campaign won 7% of the vote. Because her campaign received more than 5% of the total vote, she became the first woman in the history of the state of Maine to gain ballot access for a third political party, even though she lost the vote.
The graphic on this t-shirt includes: "I'm voting for Pat. Paid for and authorized by LaMarsh for Governor. Committee David Draper Treasurer." LaMarche signed the t-shirt, correcting a misspelling of her last name and writing, "They never get it right!"
