Description

Architecture commission for Winslow Congregational Church at 12 Lithgow Street in Winslow, ME, 1951. The commission is associated with John Howard Stevens and John Calvin Stevens II Architects. This item is part of the Stevens Architects drawings and records collection.

The church is nestled along the bank of the historic Kennebec River where it has stood since 1796. Built using timber frame design, this structure served as the town’s first meetinghouse until 1828, when it became the current Winslow Congregational Church.
