Description
Assistant Surveyor Samuel Thompson created this drawing of the northern international boundary of Minnesota under the 7th article of the Treaty of Ghent (1814). Locations in this survey include Little Vermillion Lake, Lake Nameukan, and Nameukan Seepe.
Members of the British Commission included Anthony Barclay, David Thompson, and Samuel Thompson. Members of the American Commission were Peter B. Porter and William Bird. These items are part of a larger archive, the Thomas Barclay collection (Coll. 26).
