Description
This mahogany card table was probably made by Benjamin Frothingham, of Charlestown, Massachusetts in 1796. It is one of a matched pair. Frothingham had served under Henry Knox during the Revolutionary War, and Knox commissioned him to make a number of pieces for his Thomaston mansion, Montpelier. MMN image # 10533 is the original receipt for this table.
