Description
Sidney Perham was born in Woodstock in 1819. Politically active throughout his life, he served as clerk of the Oxford County Supreme Court from 1859-1863. He served in Congress from 1863 to 1869.
He was Maine's governor from 1871-1874. He was an advocate of temperance and jail system reforms.
