Description
The Portland Company built this narrow-gauge locomotive in 1892 for the Sandy River Railroad in Phillips.
The N.B. Beale, No. 5 is Portland shop number is 622. It is a two-foot gauge. It has 33-inch drivers and resemble the Hinckley engines from the shape of the cab roof.
The Portland Company bought engineering drawings and patterns from the Hinckley Co. of Boston when it went out of business.
