Description
"A 1909 Knox seven-passenger touring car sits here, awaiting someone to drive it away with its folding top up to protect the passengers from inclement weather. The large headlights were powered by acetylene produced by carbide generators and did give off quite a bit of light to drive by. The side or marker lamps were powered by lamp oil or kerosene and did not give off much light."--Fletcher, David H. 'The Portland Company 1846-1982.' Charleston, S.C. : Arcadia Pub., 2002. 81.
