Description
Frederick W. Plaisted was editor and later owner of "New Age," an Augusta newspaper. He was elected mayor of Augusta in 1906, 1907, and 1908.
Plaisted was the first Democratic sheriff of Kennebec County. He served as governor of Maine from 1911 to 1913.
He died in Los Angeles in 1943.
