Description
A satirical, anti-Prohibition, anti-Neal Dow broadside entitled "Triennial National Ramrod Jubilee" with covert references to Portland officials, "Ramrods," including the "father of the Maine law" Neal Dow.
The broadside used offensive, racist, and misogynist language to depict temperance leaders as hypocritical. Topics include a financial scandal involving Maine state treasurer, Reverend Benjamin D. Peck, who allegedly lent state funds to friends, including Dow.
