Description
Pilot and airfield operator Harry Jones conceived of an airshow on Old Orchard Beach and it proved so successful that 140,000 spectators were reported to have attended between August 24-26, 1923.
The beach, with its hard sand surface, provided an ideal landing strip and runway.
