Description
Martha Skolfield used this kitchen scale in her home in Brunswick. Patented in 1865, such a scale was an important tool for any kitchen at that time. As technology improved, recipes became more detailed, calling for specific measurements of ingredients rather than the universal "pinch" or "a bit" accpeted previously.
