Description
View of the parlor inside the Wadsworth-Longfellow house on Congress Street in Portland.
The plaque on the wall reads "I may build more splendid habitations, fill our rooms with painting and with sculptures, but we cannot buy with gold the old associations."
The house was the childhood home of poet Henry Wadsworth Longfellow and was built by his grandfather, Peleg Wadsworth.
