Description
Captain Donald Baxter MacMillan embarked on an Arctic voyage from Wiscasset on June 20, 1925.
The National Geographic Society sponsored the trip. The first color photographs of the Arctic were taken on this trip.
MacMillan made over thirty voyages to the Arctic from 1908 to 1957. His first trip was as Robert E. Peary's assistant in 1908.
