Description
Cyrus Davis was born in Buxton in 1856. As an adult, he worked as a broker in Waterville and in Boston before becoming active in Maine politics.
Davis served in the Maine State Legislature, as mayor of Waterville, and as Secretary of State.
He also was the Collector of Port for Portland in 1911 and as surveyor of the district in 1914.
Davis established the Waterville Daily Sentinel.
He died in 1917, while still holding the post of surveyor.
