Description
This photograph is probably from the 1913 Pageant of Portland which was performed on the Eastern Promenade on July 4th. The Pageant consisted of many short plays that reenacted the history of Portland. There were many patriotic musical selections, and four poems by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow were performed.
