Description
The stage area of the State Theater on Congress Street in Portland, showing the seating, stage area, and some of the wall decorations.
The State boasted all of the newest technology when it opened in 1929, including a 42 by 60 inch seamless projection screen and a $25,000 Wurlitzer Organ. The theater played some of the first "talkies" and silent films in the state.
