Description
A crowd of fairgoers, horses and buggies, hawkers, and concessionaires pack the fairgrounds of the North New Portland Fair, circa 1908.
This early scene of a small country fair in Maine was captured by the noted early woman photographer, Chansonetta Stanley Emmons (1858-1937) of Kingfield.
Her monogram "CSE" is scratched on the surface of the lower left hand corner of the print.
