Description
Martha Washburn (1792-1861), daughter of Tabitha Livermore and Lt. Samuel Benjamin, in 1812 married Israel Washburn of Livermore. They had 11 children, one of whom died as a baby.
The seven sons of Israel and Martha Washburn rose to serve as state governors, congressmen, a U.S. senator, Secretary of State, foreign ministers, a Civil War general and a Navy captain.
