Massachusetts Hall, Bowdoin College, 1962

Description

Massachusetts Hall at Bowdoin College was built between 1798 and 1803. Samuel Melcher III, Aaron Melcher and Capt. John Dunlap were the architect-builders. This was the first building at Bowdoin College. It was remodeled in 1872-73 by A.C. Martin.

It is brick and has a five-bay front plus a two-and-a-half story ell. It originally had a belfry.
