Description
This is the open-air theater in South Berwick where Gladys Hasty Carroll's story, As the Earth Turns" was performed.
The play, based on Carroll's 1933 novel by the same name, was intended to counteract a 1934 film version. Carroll and others were unhappy with the film depiction of Maine and farm life.
