Description
The Brackett Block in Westbrook was built about 1850. Tinware peddlers stocked their wagons at the block.
Hormidas Alexis LaFond purchased the building from the Warren Family in the early 1920s and moved his dry goods business LaFond & Co. there, eventually occupying two floors and selling women's and children's apparel, gifts and jewelry.
