Henry Hutchins was a jeweler, and James Henry Pearson was a sale clerk. This was the original location of George T. Springer before the store re-located to downtown Portland, and is now called Springer's Jewelers. The original shop not only sold jewelry, but sold books, stationary optical goods and fancy goods.
