Description
By the mid-20th century, young women enjoyed considerable freedom and they were encouraged to participate in outdoor activities to a degree that their mothers and grandmothers had never done. This photograph shows a group of gear-laden hikers from Camp Wavus in Jefferson setting out on an overnight camping trip.
