Description
The foot bridge over the Meduxnekeag River in Houlton made it easier for the Highland Hotel owners, James Archibald, Ransford W. Shaw, George Nickerson and George A. Hall, to walk from their homes to the Hotel.
It was replaced in 1896 by a bridge jointly financed by the Highland Hotel and the Town of Houlton.
This photograph was published in the Aroostook Pioneer Illustrated Souvenir Edition, Houlton, Spring, 1895.
This photograph is part of the (Edward) E. B. White Collection, a collection of photographs by E. B. White and other photographers taken between 1885 and 1920.
