Description
Beaver houses at the head of Eagle Lake. Henry Withee and Horace Bailey took the photo on their Allagash canoe trip in 1911.
Withee wrote about entering Eagle Lake, "The cloudless sky, the sparking water, and the clean, silent shores gave us the feeling that we had, unawares, paddled straight into the land of magic."
