Stereoview of Nelson Dingley (1832-1899), a member of the U.S. House of Representatives, 1898.
Nelson Dingley of Lewiston was governor of Maine from 1874-1876 and a U.S. Representative from 1881-1899. He died in office.
Before going into politics he was owner and editor of the Lewiston Journal.
