Description

One of many ornate fireplaces in the home of Clyde and Margaret Chase Smith on Locust Avenue in Skowhegan. The fireplace is surrounded by hand-carved tiles.

Clyde Smith bought the home in 1927 and Margaret Chase Smith sold it in 1945 after his death. It was known as the Pooler mansion.
