Description
Thomas C. Moon photographed a broken vessel on the shore of Taunton Bay, in front of the Hancock Cemetery in Hancock County, probably about 1915.
Moon was born in Sullivan, the son of Thomas Moon and Eliza (Murch) Mercer about 1851. He became a professional photographer in Laconia, New Hampshire, and by the early 20th century had a summer studio at Lamoine Point. He visited relatives and did a series of local color images.
This ship may be the William & Gilliam Schooner about 200 gross ton (abandoned about 1910).
