Description
A sailmaker uses a heaver as a "windlass" to tighten stitching or the wrapped seizing.
The sail twine is wrapped around the shaft of the heaver several times, and the handle is turned accordingly to tension the stitching or seizing. "WBD" is marked on the handle.
