Description
View of the environs around the Maine General Hospital, located on Bramhall Street in Portland, was opened in 1874 in response to a need for a general hospital in Maine. In 1951, after a merger with the Maine Eye and Ear Infirmary and Children's Hospital, the name was changed to Maine Medical Center.
