Description

Tobias Thompson was a prominent citizen of Winterport and a leader of the drive to carve Winterport from the original settlement of Frankfort in 1860.

He was the uncle of James Otis Kaler, noted Maine author, and of Benjamin Thompson, a deep sea skipper who captained the ship Great Admiral.
