Description

This original ten dollar bank note was issued by the New England Bank of Fairmount, Maine in 1857. It was dated October 1, 1857 and signed by E. Rittenhouse, president. Rawdon, Wright, Hatch & Edson, of New York, printed the money. Fairmount is now a neighborhood in Bangor, Maine. New England Bank, based in Boston, was chartered in 1813.
