City Hall Auditorium seats, Portland, ca. 1912

Description

Portland built its City Hall Auditorium in 1912. These chairs are two of the 1,908 original seats removed during renovations in 1995, when the city renamed the theater Merrill Auditorium.

Today, Merrill Auditorium is home to the Portland Symphony Orchestra, Portland Ovations, and the Friends of the Kotzschmar Organ.
