Description
The Sunbeam IV, a 65-foot vessel with an 18-foot beam, was photographed docked at Cutlers Harbor. In service between 1964 and 1995, the ship featured a unique bow made from a single piece of compound-curved steel, shaped by controlled explosions. Dynamite was strategically placed against the steel to achieve the design. The engine room housed a GM 871 V8 diesel engine. The ship was designed by Luther Blount of Blount Marine, Warren, Rhode Island.
