Description

The Maine Seacoast Mission began using the Hope, its first sailing vessel, in 1905. This 26-foot vessel, photographed towing a dinghy under full sail, served the Mission until 1906.

Since 1905, the Maine Seacoast Mission has served as a trusted friend along the Maine coast. Rooted in a tradition of compassionate service and mutual trust, the Mission strengthens coastal and island communities by educating youth, supporting families, and promoting good health.
