Description
Sculptor Benjamin Paul Akers (1825-1861) received this commemorative silver medal at the 1854 Exhibition and Fair of the Maine Charitable Mechanic Association. The award was for his bas relief of "Peace."
Akers was a native of Saccarappa (Westbrook) and was a noted sculptor.
