Description
The photograph depicts both the local headquarters of the U.S. border patrol in Fort Kent and the international bridge built across the St. John River in the 1920s. Frank R. Soeder (1917-2001) served in the U.S. Army Air Corps in World War II. Discharged in 1946, he joined the border patrol. He became an immigration and naturalization inspector at the Van Buren Port of Entry.
