Description

Two sportsmen stood in shallow water next to a canoe, carrying a slain deer from a horizontal pole, while a second deer lay at the bottom of the canoe. John Brooks "Jack" Howard (1875-1971) photographed the scene during a hunting and fishing trip to Washington County circa 1900.
