Description
Arthur Schuh, a Lieutenant (Junior Grade) in the United States Navy Reserve, photographed Naval activity at the U.S. Naval Frontier Base in downtown Portland in 1944.
In addition to his Navy service, Schuh was a professional photographer and entrepreneur. Born in Quincy, Massachusetts, he graduated from Harvard with a BA and MBA in 1940.
Identifiable Navy vessels pictured are the Auxiliary Motor Minesweepers YMS-331 and YMS-369, along with IX-65, an auxiliary schooner.
