Description
Hunting and fishing guide Robert Martin is pictured posing for Portland Evening Express photographers after discovering the body of fellow guide and letter carrier Otis A. Bean. Martin heard gunshots and, upon investigating, found a flashlight in the bushes near Bean's garage, leading him to the murder scene. Authorities arrested two itinerant lumberjacks, Norman Mawson and Jeremiah Wheaton after Martin spotted them on the road outside the garage around the time of the murder.
